I’m Kimberly Ann Hawes, the creator of THE MAPLINGS — The Mapping Millennials and the world of Rooted & Rude.

THE MAPLINGS grew from my love of travel, art, fashion, writing, culture, and creating things that refuse to sit politely inside one category. Rooted writes. Rude designs. Together, they travel with paper maps, sharp eyes, distinctive style, and a habit of noticing the things most people walk right past.

Every journey, outfit, strange observation, invented word, map, story, and detour begins somewhere inside my imagination. THE MAPLINGS give all of those ideas somewhere to go.

This is their world.
